My Personal Experience on the Lower Ballanjui Falls Circuit
The Beginning of the Hike
The trail starts near O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat. The initial section is easy, with well-defined paths and the soothing sounds of birds. However, as you go deeper into the forest, the trail becomes narrower and more rugged.
Midway Challenges
We thought this would have been the most challenging part of the hike is the steep incline halfway through. Although it’s tough, the reward would have been worth it, if we were greeted by a beautiful panoramic view of the falls. Instead every step we were taking we were greeted by leeches. They were everywhere, blood was everywhere. We were not prepared enough for this so we decided to go back up and call it a day.
Reaching the Falls
This would have been the highlight of the hike! Unfortunately we were probably back in our car still freaking out because of the freaking leeches!
Final Thoughts on Lower Ballanjui Falls Circuit
Lower Ballanjui Falls Circuit is a rewarding hike that combines natural beauty with a bit of adventure. It’s perfect for anyone looking to escape into the wild and reconnect with nature. Unfortunately the closest thing we got from the falls was the sound of the water.
